Hello, my name is Deborah Glasgow and I am so passionate about designing Jewellery and Fashion pieces! Being born in London I am glad that everything I produce is totally British. Some of my work is plated or cast in Hatton Garden. Just to tell you a little about my background, I have a BTec Foundation in Art and Design Qualification, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Product Design from Central St. Martins School. I then worked as a Sales Associate at Selfridges & Co for 3 years. More recently I completed a Diploma in Jewellery Manufacturing from Holts Academy in Hatton Garden. I have in the past had a stall selling my jewellery at Spitalfields Market. In 2011 -2012 I taught Jewellery Making to mothers at schools and children's centres in North London. I have also done two short courses at the London Jewellery School, Wax Carving and Jewellery Design. In December 2013 I completed the Contemporary Craft for Enterprise Programme at Holts Academy. In the same year I had a space at the 13The Gallery exhibition in Newington Green, and exhibited at the Contemporary Jewellery Exhibition in Birmingham. In 2015 I did an internship at the Jewellery Company Maya Magal London, which helped me grow in many areas including doing a presentation to the studio and working on social media. More recently I have shown at Fashions Finest event during London Fashion Week, a Collections Presentation for FDC and had my jewellery in editorials online and in hard copy. I have in the past for a year trained under Goldsmith and Silversmith Kelvin J Birk which has greatly reformed my skills. I have worked with various stylists and also have trained as a Designer with company BrandsforFashion .
I believe that whatever your passion is you should follow that dream until you see its fulfilment. Anything is possible! I'd like to show my collection to Marie Claire Magazine, Liberty and Harrods. I love working with Sterling Silver Jewellery and also make Rhodium plated and Yellow Gold and Silver plated jewellery. My work is always evolving; I now make more large and bold fashion pieces that incorporate fashion and jewellery and I am inspired by everything around me including fashion shows and vintage films. Living in London means that I am drawing inspiration from everything around me. I love being in a creative community! My daughter is a great inspiration to me as she helps me aim to become the best designer I can be. I want to use this website to show all my creative ideas and the love I have for producing Artisanal, Wearable Art. I hope you stay following the growth and the exciting journey of Biblos Glasgow!
